Walking is good for the heart of women

reduces the risk of heart attack, at least in women. And ‘ as demonstrated in a study published in the journal Stroke: Journal of the American Heart Association.

The study says that 39,315 women mean age 54 years and covers both heart attack risk in general and the risk of myocardial ischemia and hemorrhagic. According to the study in women who have the habit of walking at a fast pace the heart attack risk in general is reduced by 37 %, a percentage that reaches 30% in those which normally walk for two hours or more per week.

Regarding hemorrhagic stroke in women who walk at a fast pace, the risk is reduced by 68%, and women who are walking two hours a week however the risk is reduced by 57 %. The risk of myocardial ischemic instead be reduced by 25 % for women who walk at a fast pace and 21 % for women who walk two or more hours per week.

“Physical activity, including regular walks – Sattelmair noted – is a habit important for cardiovascular health and preventing infarction.
